This huge ancient image of what
is thought to be a horse was
made by carving away the sod,
exposing white chalk beneath it.
It is believed the culture revered
horses, especially white horses.

area is a bright red and resembles
a great gash.
Mount San Michelle, Normandie, France
A Benedictine monastery is built atop
a huge outcropping of basalt just off
the coast of North Brittany in the Gulf
of San-Malo. A small village has grown
up around the monastery.  The tide
here rushes in at 15' high and cannot
be outrun, even by horses.
