said to have been
covered in gold.
When I was little, I remember teabags
being hung out to dry on the clothes line.
This was done when times were
tight and money was scarce.
The teabags were reused.

old temple in Malta are depicted
as they might look in the moonlight.
Stones weighing many tons still
remain at this enigmatic spot.
Fingal's Cave

This cave is on the Island
of Staffa, near Iona, Scotland.
It is made of octagonal
pipes of stone from
volcanic times.

Llanhamlach Triptych

Details from 3-panelled painting of
ancient stone found in Wales near
Brecon in a tiny chapel in Llanhamlach.
I stayed with artist, Shirley Jones and her
husband, in their home near the site. It
was tucked away up in the hills and the
name of the area is Blethyn Uchaff
meaning 'high safe place' in Welsh.
Toured the UK in the
'Open Boxes' exhibition.

Barclodiad y Gawres
Bryn Celli Ddu
Title means "The Apron of the
Giantess" and refers to a site on the
island of Anglesey (Ynis Mon) in North
Wales. This stone was found in a
cave atop the hill overlooking a
beautiful, hidden beach.
Reflections of my life as a mother. Collage of myself as a
child holding dolls, as a mother holding my babies and
several photos of Madonna images from around the world.
Burial mound or passage grave
on Inys Mon, N. Wales is
represented on this bookcover.
Made of Nigerian Goatskin in
several colors with 24K gold

vellum. Hand-printed and stamped with
poetry. Pigsuede covers and raku
replica of the ancient stone illustrating
its glyphs. Collaboration with artist,
Joan Iverson Goswell.

Accordian-style hand-made book with
poem attached about this cave being used
to hide art and rare books during WWII.
Marbled papers, leatherbound w/ 24K gold
lettering. Cased in clamshell box with
embossed image of cave that is located
beneath the National Library of Wales.

"Safe Passage" Boxwork
Made specifically for an invitational exhibit
in Wales called "Boxes." Obvious reference
to home. Moulded paper image of my stone
persona with golden stile to get over sharp
tacks or perils. Also contains my Omphalos
pressmark of a circle and cross in gold
along with spiral copper rod above door to
ward of evil.
Hand-made book and case. Replica of the stone
is surrounded by poem about its history. Nigerian
leather cover, hand-made paper and carved
stone. Protected in clam-shell case. Both have
24K gold lettering. Hand-marbled end papers
and liners.
