| Reiki Definition Reiki (pron. ray-key) is an ancient art form of natural healing which involves your body, mind and soul. It is a hands-on method of healing which induces the relaxation response. This deep state of relaxation and flow of the life force energy through the body promotes the release of tension and anxiety. It also enhances the functioning of the immune system. The release of endorphins is stimulated, thereby relieving pain and creating a sense of well-being. Reiki energy that is passed from the giver to receiver works on many different levels to bring harmonious balance, according to the individual's needs. The Reiki practitioner is a channel to conduct this Universal Life Energy and no personal energy is drawn or drained from the giver. |
